Who We Are

We are a coalition made up of organizations who represent a broad, multi-racial, multi-class, intersectional set of communities who are all impacted by climate change.

Together, we are working to build durable movement infrastructure that can continue to fight the fossil fuel industry and lead in the transition to clean energy—at both the local and state levels.

Our Coalition

Our Campaign

We are building a BIPOC and frontline-led statewide coalition to build political power & pass policy that makes polluters pay.

Our goals are to:

  1. Build movement infrastructure rooted in frontline leadership and grassroots power

  2. Build a state-wide alliance that can secure climate resilience and a Just Transition off fossil fuels

  3. Use this infrastructure to win funding, policies, and outcomes for climate resilience and justice

Mission

Our mission for the Make Polluters Pay campaign is to hold the fossil fuel industry financially accountable for climate damages they have wrought in Washington over the last few decades, while centering frontline communities in policy design, leadership, and outcomes.

Vision

We envision a future where we have exited the current extractive and exploitative fossil fuel system by creating real alternatives that result in healthy, safe, and thriving communities. Where communities have power because we have defined our energy futures by building resilience to the coming climate impacts, and investing in community-powered solutions to energy and the economy.
